HOW TO ORDER

Orders can be taken via the website.

Select the items you want to buy and click 'add to basket', your items will be added to your shopping basket. To see all your purchases together or when you have all the items you want, click 'view basket'. You can remove items by clicking 'remove', next to the item and then click 'update order total' Once everything in your basket is correct, click 'go to checkout'. You then choose the delivery address and will be advised of the shipping costs. You will need to select your method of payment. When you have placed your order you will receive an email to confirm your order with us. Your confirmation order will detail the products you have ordered, however this is automatic confirmation and and does not guarantee we shall be able to meet your order, if there are any problems we will advise you as soon as possible by email. PAYMENT

We accept payment by most major credit or debit cards we use HSBC Secure Payments and cheque/postal order. Cleared payment must be received before the dispatch of your purchase.If payment is made by personal cheque we need to allow 3 working days for payment to clear before dispatching your order. Payment can be made online using our secure server facilities, and made using either Visa, Mastercard, Switch ,Solo, Delta or JCB. We use the HSBC Secure ePayments System as our payment gateway. We DO NOT store your credit card details, these are processed by HSBC Secure ePayments.

Alternatively, you can phone your order and we will take credit card details at the same time. Payments are also accepted by cheque or postal order which you can post to us.

AVAILABILITY

Please note that whilst we make every effort to ensure that the items listed on the site are available, on rare occasions, stock advertised on the site may sell out before it can be removed. A large number of our items are bespoke and unique and therefore some items appearing on the website may no longer be available and we reserve the right to withdraw any item from sale at any time, even after an order has been placed. We will off course inform you as soon as possible when such instances occur.

Items that are out of stock are normally removed from The Other Duckling website.

PRICING

The prices shown on The Other Duckling website are quoted in UK pounds sterling (£) and include VAT at 17.5%. The Other Duckling takes great care to ensure prices are accurate. Prices may change over time and without notice. The total cost of your order is the price of the item plus delivery charge. In the event that a price is incorrect we reserve the right to withdraw the product from sale and cancel your order.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

We take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of products appearing on this website are correct when the information is entered onto the system. We aim to keep the website as up to date as possible, but the information, including product descriptions may not always reflect the position at the exact moment you place an order. We reserve the right to withdraw any products from this website at any time and/or remove or edit any materials or content on this website. We may refuse to process a transaction for any reason or refuse service to anyone at any time at our sole discretion.

All dimensions are in centimetres and measured at the widest point. All products are handmade and may vary slightly.

The Other Duckling makes every effort to reproduce colours on the site as accurately as possible. However, different computers reproduce colours in slightly different ways, and so exact colour matches are not yet possible over the Internet. This means that when you order products from the Shop, colours may differ from what you see on the screen. If you are not satisfied with the colour of the item you have ordered, we operate a returns policy (although we cannot offer refunds on our bespoke items).

The Other Duckling website is provided on an 'as is' basis - we make no guarantee that our website will be error free, or be available on an uninterrupted basis. We shall not be held responsible to you if we are unable to provide any of our internet services to you for any reasons outside our control. Unless we are negligent, we shall not be responsible for any loss you may incur, loss or destruction of data or any other loss you may incur from the use of our internet services. We will not be responsible for any losses resulting from your use, or your inability to use our website - or resulting from unauthorised access to, or alteration to your transmissions, or data in circumstances beyond our control. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. In the event that The Other Duckling is held liable under these terms and conditions our maximum liability to you shall be the cost of the product(s) purchased by you.

MADE-TO-ORDER

We cannot offer refunds on made-to-order goods unless the product is faulty and an exception is made. The timescale of made-to-order goods will be confirmed by email after the order is placed as it will depend upon availability of fabric. Should the estimated delivery time be too long we can cancel your order and refund you in full, we will need you to advise us of this by email asap.

RETURN / REFUND POLICY

If you are not satisfied with any purchase from our company simply return it within 14 days of your receipt of the goods, unused, in a re-saleable condition and in its original packaging with proof of purchase. We will gladly exchange the item(s) or refund your money. You will be responsible for the cost of return postage. You must inform us of the cancellation of the purchase by phone and then confirm it in writing either by e-mail to orders@theotherduckling.co.uk or letter to 5 Hall Court, Botley Road, Shedfield, Hampshire SO32 2HL.

Please give us at least two weeks to process your refund once we've received the goods back. If purchased by a card payment the refund will be credited to the appropriate card account. If we hold your email address we will send you an email confirming that we have refunded your card, otherwise we contact you by telephone.

If payment was made by cheque or postal order we will made the refund by a similar method.

FAULTY GOODS POLICY

If on receipt you find the goods faulty then please inform us as soon as possible, but no later than seven days, and we will arrange to collect them (the whole order or specific item), which we will exchange or give a full refund. All products to be returned must be carefully repackaged in their original packing.

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive. We do not offer refunds on made-to-order goods unless otherwise agreed.

COPYRIGHTS & TRADEMARKS

All designs, images, logos, graphics, photography, text as displayed on our website are protected under copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights. You may view, copy and print portions of our website for the sole purpose of placing and recording an order with us. We employ secure server technology to help prevent interception of data whilst it is being transmitted, and take the utmost care to ensure that our systems are protected from unauthorised entry.

Personal Information: In order for us to process your order The Other Duckling need to capture certain details about the order and about you. When you register and use this site you will be asked to provide certain information such as your name, address, delivery address, telephone number, email address, contact details. We keep a record of any emails or other messages you may send us. This helps us provide customer support services to you. DELIVERY

A delivery charge will be added to your order where appropriate. You will be notified of the delivery cost for your order before you submit your credit card details.

Non Furniture Orders (£3.50)

Goods are normally dispatched within 7 working days of receipt of your order, if in stock (usually sooner). If the item is out of stock we will contact you when your delivery will be available (usually within 4 weeks).Your order will be dispatched when every item is available. Once your order has been dispatched you will be informed by email.

Small Furniture (£10.00)

Some small furniture items and bulk small orders will be dispatched by our courier partners Parcel Force.This is to keep the delivery charge as low as possible. Our couriers deliver between 9am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. The Other Duckling values your security. To safeguard this, a signature is required to acknowledge receipt of goods.

If no-one is in to sign for the goods, a card will be left with a phone number on to re-arrange delivery . We are happy to send items as gifts for people, but, to avoid confusion, please inform them in advance that a parcel from The Other Duckling is going to be delivered.

Although we work closely with our couriers to ensure the best possible service and convenient delivery times, we regret that delays sometimes occur which are outside our control.

Standard Furniture Delivery from £35 (CURRENTLY NO ITEMS OF THIS NATURE LISTED ON THE WEBSITE)

Goods will be delivered to you within 1-3 weeks of receipt of your order unless you have ordered an out of stock item in which case the goods will be delivered to you within 1-2 weeks of us receiving the supplier delivery. Furniture Orders can take up to 6- 12 weeks, however we always try our upmost to deliver as soon as possible. We will contact you once your order is complete in order to arrange your delivery date and time slot. If the product is an out of stock item there will be a lead time quoted on the order confirmation email. The lead-time quoted is given in good faith. The lead-time is the number of weeks we expect it will take to receive your furniture into our warehouse. Once the furniture has arrived at our warehouse we will contact you within 2-3 days to arrange your delivery. If the product is available straight away then we will contact you within 2-3 days to arrange your delivery.

The lead-time is based on the best available information from our suppliers at the time of purchase. Where any delay occurs we will notify you by phone or email at the earliest opportunity.

We try and keep to our standard delivery charge. However some products are fragile and require specialist carriers, are heavy and oversized or require extra insurance. To avoid customer disappointment and offer the best service some deliveries will have to incur an extra charge. Deliveries are made by our special furniture vans or our courier partners and they take place Monday to Friday. The day(s) and times that we deliver to your area will be discussed with you when we call you. Each day is split into a.m. and p.m. The Other Duckling values your security. To safeguard this, a signature is required to acknowledge receipt of goods.

We make every effort to carry out deliveries on the date and in the time slot quoted. The delivery date and time slot we give to you is an estimate given in good faith. If we subsequently learn that the estimate is inaccurate, we will endeavour to inform you using the contact numbers you have given us.

Please consider the following factors that may prevent us from completing a standard delivery: red routes and parking restrictions; delivery vehicle size restrictions; restricted access into property due to the size of the ground floor entrance; restricted access within the property to the intended delivery location. Such factors may require alternative delivery methods for which, in most cases, there is an additional charge. If you have any concerns regarding delivery, please contact us on 01329 834769 as soon as possible.

As standard practice our couriers will deliver to your porch/doorstep.If you require assistance moving the goods inside it is at the drivers discrection and any damage to property or product is the responsibility of the customer.

It is your responsibility to ensure that furniture from The Other Duckling will pass freely through doorways, passageways and awkward corners or turns. All our products on the website have clear measurements for height, width and depth. Should any furniture not fit through your access ways, we will not refund your delivery fee, and we will charge you a 20 % handling fee.

Our delivery team do not assemble any furniture. Most of our furniture does not come flat packed. If it is flatpacked we will inform you within the item description.

We are sorry but we do not currently delivery overseas.

Legal

As a consumer you are protected by the normal laws of England, in particular The Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 (c. 35) and the Consumer Protection Act 1987 (c.43)
